Tom Morrow is standing for the Aberdeenshire Council election in North Kincardine Ward 17 in May 2012.

He is a former accountant who was the lead candidate in the North East Scotland Regional list for the Scottish Parliamentary Election in the 2007 and 2011 Holyrood election.  He knows the Region well.  Danny the Axe-lander’s “oil raid” upon the North Sea oil industry is still having its effect upon the Region.

Tom is presently working with a local Christian charity which gives assistance to the poor and needy in the city of Aberdeen.  His main tasks are fund-raising through contact with groups and trusts, giving talks to clubs and organising bag-packing days. Other task are driving the vans and taking customers round to choose their furniture and other items.

Tom says: “I am also a local community councillor speaking up for the people in the Portlethen and District district where I live, reviewing and discussing the work of the local authority.  I am the treasurer of a gospel internet radio station which hopes with God’s help to become a local radio station.”

He also helps with a Scripture Union group at the local primary school he attended many years ago, assisting the minister of the local United Free Church.

Tom says: “I would love to use my knowledge of the health service and local authorities to serve the North East Scotland Region at Holyrood.”
