Keeping our Christian Constitution
8 August 2011
Some Christians seem not to care whether Scotland keeps its Christian constitution or not.
When the subject is raised, they respond that we are no longer a Christian country or that we are in a post-Christian era.
The fact is that we are a Christian country and there is no reason on earth why we should let it slip out of our hands.
With the landslide election of the Scottish National Party we draw ever closer to losing this Christian constitution because a new constitution will be used as an opportunity by the humanist lobby to jettison Christianity and the constitutional role and place of our Christian institutions. The country is ill-informed about these benefits. If Christians do not stand up for our Christian constitution, it bodes ill for the country. In this vacuum, the equalities agenda is promoting new “values” for our society, which not only marginalises but opposes Christianity and its expression.
It will be some legacy for the SNP to carry if in its zeal for independence from the United Kingdom it takes leave of the Christianity which has been with us for over a millennium.
Let us keep our country Christian.
