More persecution of Christians
18 April 2011
If Christians thought that persecution was going away, then they are wrong. The Thought Police are alive and well and may soon be in your area.
Colin Atkinson has been taken to task after a complaint from a tenant of Wakefield District Housing, who suggested that his displaying of a cross might offend other faiths. The offending feature has been in place for 15 years.
This is another example of the coersion being used against Christians.
This is not simply infringing freedom of speech but it is impinging on freedom of expression. Notice the cowardly manner in which this agenda is pursued. Instead of engaging Colin in debate on the topic, a vague suggestion that some-one might be offended is made. Thereafter the machinery of state, or whatever, rolls into action.
This “taking offence” has its origin in the MacPherson Report and it is yielding much bad fruit. The Scottish Christian Party argues in its Manifesto that this subjective definition of offence will have to change from “taking offence” to the more objective definition of what can be reasonably construed to be “giving offence”.
