Policies - Foreword 2011 Scottish Election Manifesto
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
Most people have ideas which they would like to see implemented in Scotland, but they are unsure how to make them happen. Politics is about making things happen.
Some people complain about the wrong direction or wrong laws promoted in our Parliaments. There is only one legitimate way to change the law, and that is by politicians proposing and voting for new legislation. The Scottish Christian Party will supply you with the politicians to promote Christian solutions for Scotland – but only if you vote for them.
You have a new opportunity to introduce a Christian agenda to Scotland. All it takes is for you to vote for the Christian Party “Proclaiming Christ’s Lordship” on 5th May 2011.
But you can do more. You can get involved by visiting our website at http://www.scottishchristianparty.org.uk where you will see our principles and strategy under our Frequently Asked Questions.
You will also learn how hundreds of thousands of voters wasted their Regional vote which counted for nothing in getting an MSP elected. If only 15,000 of these will vote for the Christian Party in any of the eight Regions in Scotland, you will have a distinctly Christian Voice in Holyrood for that Region. This is also explained on our website. Which will be the first Region in Scotland to vote Christian?
More than this, you can pray. In this Manifesto you will find our policies for those devolved matters for which the Scottish Parliament is responsible.
Dr Donald Boyd
Leader of the Christian Party in Scotland
Christian Party Members of Parliament will:
- provide a distinctly Christian Voice in Holyrood
- speak up for the Christian constitution of Scotland
- introduce legislation to hold governments to their own Manifesto pledges
- expose the unequal Equalities legislation
- work against the centralisation of Police services
